Partner Development - iPlanet Product Training Roadmap

With Netscape's purchase by AOL, Netscape's enterprise software division merged with Sun Microsystems's software group to form a joint venture called iPlanet.  The product offerings doubled overnight and in some areas, overlapped.  Sun's larger, hardware oriented sales force and channel partners saw immediate opportunity but didn't know where to begin or how to engage their customers.  They needed a simple, one page roadmap and series of questions to help start that conversation.

Starting in the left, lower hand corner (like the Start button in Microsoft Windows), a series of questions are asked.  Each question leads to another, "higher order" question.  To the right are the iPlanet product offerings that would assist in providing that solution.  The relationships of the each iPlanet product to each other are displayed as the Internet infrastructure gets built out.

This diagram shows also the raw ideas and concept without the benefit of a graphic artist's talent!
